IE4 and Netscape Bookmarks
Below you will find a listing of some check points and options you might wish to try

Using both IE4 and Netscape on one system leads to an annoying problem: two bookmark lists that can't be easily synchronized. (When you install IE, it imports your Netscape Bookmarks file into the Favorites folder, but that's a one-time, one-way transfer.)

To get around this problem, use IE's Favorites folder for either browser. This is even simpler with IE 4, which puts the Favorites folder right on your Start Menu (see below for IE 3). All you have to do is change your default browser to Netscape. If Netscape isn't currently your default browser, the program will ask if you want to make it so at next launch. Now whenever you select a shortcut from Start Menu's Favorites menu, it opens that site in Navigator. Switch the default browser back to IE, and it uses IE instead.

You can even add shortcuts to your Favorites menu from within Netscape, but it takes a couple of steps. Instead of using the Bookmarks menu in Netscape, just right-click on a blank part of the current Web page, or on a link, and choose "Internet Shortcut" from the pop-up context menu. This will put a shortcut on your desktop. From there, you can move it into your Favorites folder.

Using IE 3? You can still put your Favorites folder on your Start Menu, so it's readily accessible from anywhere. Just find the Favorites folder and drag it into \Windows\Start Menu.
