Counter Information
If you want to find
out how many people are visiting your site, you can have a counter just like the one we
use on our JVLNET Web page.
There are two ways you can add an automatic Counter Script to your JVLNET Webpage. Either
way you will be able to view the number of "hits" you get on one or more of your
Webpage. You will also be able to study a lot of other interesting statistical information
about the usage of your Webpgaes.
FREE public counter on your main
webpage
If you choose this option JVLNET will allow you to add the
following line toward the bottom of your index.html webpage. When you do, your counter
will automatically be added to JVLNET's Public Web Counter. To view our Public Web
Counters, go to http://www.jvlnet.com/~counter/counter.cgi.
Once the JVLNET Public Counter Page loads you will
be able to see your Webpage statistics, as well as many other Public Counters.
This is the line you will need to add to your index.html
webpage:

Put your login name in place of the brackets, just the same
as it is in your webpage address.
$5 per month additional for a
Private Counter Directory
If you wish a Private Counter directory in your JVLNET web
directory or your DOMAIN, and/or would like to be able to add as many counters to as many of your
webpages as you like, and track the "hits" to all of your webpages separately,
then you will need to e-mail webmaster@jvlnet.com
your request. Cut and paste the following into your e-mail:
"Please add a Private Counter directory into my JVLNET
web directory, or DOMAIN (please tell us your exact DOMAIN name), and add $5 per month to
my JVLNET account charges."
Once your Private Counter is set up JVLNET will e-mail you
a conformation, and then you will need to add one the following counter script lines to your main webpage, and any other webpages that you
wish to add the counters to:
<img
src="http://www.jvlnet.com/~[YOURUSERNAME]/counter/counter.cgi?R&http://www.jvlnet.com/~[YOURPAGENAME]">
Put your JVLNET login name in place of the first brackets, just
the same as it is in your webpage address, and also put the name of your webpage in place
of the last bracket (usually index.html). Put a different webpage name for each webpage you add the counter script line to.
If you are adding the Counters to your own DOMAIN then add this counter script line to your index.html page, and any other webpages that you wish to add the counters to:
<img
src="http:// [DOMAIN] / counter/counter.cgi?R&http:// [DOMAIN] / [YOURPAGENAME] ">
Put your full DOMAIN name in place of the first brackets, like www.domainname.com, and also put the name of your webpage in place of the last bracket (usually index.html for the main page). Put a different webpage name for each webpage you add the counter script line to.
