JVLNET Settings

What You Need to Get Started

Your JVLNET username and password.
Your JVLNET local access number.


The setup for OS2Warp has (4) four sections.


Part 1: Login Info

In the screen below, enter JVLNET in the Name and Description fields. Then, enter your username in the Login ID field (use lowercase only). In the Phone Number field, enter your local access number. It is important that you verify your access number is indeed local by contacting your phone company. You do not need a Login Sequence. Select PPP for your Connection Type.





Step 2: Connect Info

In the screen below, the Your IP Address is automatically assigned as 0.0.0.0. Make sure the Netmask is set to 255.255.255.0. The MRU Size for a 14.4 modem should be set to 269 and the MRU Size for a 28.8 modem should be set to 576. Check the VJ Header Compression box.

For Domain Nameserver (DNS), enter 156.46.57.10. Be sure to enter your username in lower case for Your Host Name. For Your Domain Name,enter jvlnet.com (be sure it is all lower case as well).

Step 3: Server Info

In the Default Servers/Hosts section of the screen below, enter news.jvlnet.com (all in lower case) for the News Server. Leave the Gopher Server blank (JVLNET does not offer a gopher server). Next, enter www.jvlnet.com (all in lower case) for the WWW Server.

Under Mail Server Information, the Mail Gateway is mail.jvlnet.com (lower case), the PoP Mail Server is mail.jvlnet.com (lower case), the Reply Domain is jvlnet.com (lower case), the Reply (Mail) ID and the POP Login ID are both your JVLNET username, and the POP Password is your JVLNET password (lower case)

Step 4: Modem Info

All the settings on the page below are determined by the type of modem you have.
Data Bits should be set to 8 and Parity should be set to NONE, but all the other settings are set to match your modem.
